Procedures

We offer our patients a full Electrophysiology Laboratory and can perform EEG, EMG, Nerve Conductions, Evoked Potentials at our rooms aiding your diagnosis as well as management.

Electroencephalogram EEG

An EEG is a laboratory assessment of the electrical activity of your brain. This test is very helpful in confirming Epilepsy as well as being very useful with other forms of brain diseases.

Long Term Monitoring EEG

This procedure is extremely useful in confirming Epilepsy when the standard EEG is normal. In order to perform this test, the patient is required to stay overnight in hospital to record your brains activity.

Nerve Conduction Study

We use this test frequently on our patients to confirm Peripheral Nerve Disease. Dr Opperman is frequently asked to see patients for Neurosurgeons as well as Orthopaedic surgeons to confirm trapped nerves.

Electromyography EMG

This test is used to look for muscle disease as well as to confirm the severity of nerve disease. It is very useful in confirming Motor Neuron Disease.

Evoked Potentials ( including SEP, SSEP, VEP, ABR and ERG)

Our Technologist Brent has vast experience with these tests with infants, children and adults. Somatic Sensory Evoked Potential (SEP & SSEP) examines the neural path from either your hand or foot all the way to the represented area of the brain.
