Dr. Opperman enjoys helping people with all aspects of Neurological Disease. As Neurological conditions are often life long, he will often see patients and their families for many years. Multiple Sclerosis is one such condition. This has become very special to him. He was fortunate to be invited to attend courses in Ottawa as well as Berlin at MS Centers. He is currently one of the authors of the South African Guidelines for the treatment and diagnosis of MS.

As for Headache, this condition is often considered the “Ugly Sister” of Neurology. He has a keen interest in helping people that are severely disabled by headaches. In 2001 he attended the Visiting Professors Program at Jefferson University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Other than lifestyle advice and appropriate medication for the treatment of headache Dr. Opperman helps patients with appropriate referral to associated medical professionals. He has experience in the use of Suboccipital Nerve Blocks and Botox for different types of headaches.

Dr. Opperman has more than 2 decades of experience in injecting Botulinum Toxin with and without EMG. Twice a month we have a dedicated day for Botulinum Toxin injecting. Dr. Opperman has trained many other Neurologists and Rehabilitation specialists on how to administer Botox for Neurological conditions.

Our technologist Brent Jorisson has a special interest in working with children that stems from his years at Red Cross Children’s Hospital
